Walking with St. Charles Borromeo: Catholics encouraged to take part in 9-day novena for seminarians

The Saint Paul Seminary is inviting all Catholics to participate in a special novena from October 27 to November 4 to St. Charles Borromeo, praying for the seminarians and priests at The Saint Paul Seminary and throughout the world. Those interested can sign up to receive prayers in their inbox each day during the novena.

  • What: St. Charles Borromeo novena for seminarians
  • When: Oct. 27-Nov. 4, the feast of St. Charles Borromeo
  • How: Sign up to receive the novena prayers via email each day
  • Why: To support seminarians through prayer and spiritual encouragement

By participating, you’ll join a community of faithful Catholics committed to supporting the vocations of men discerning the priesthood, all through the intercession of St. Charles Borromeo, the patron saint of seminarians and seminaries. You’ll also be praying alongside seminarians from The Saint Paul Seminary, who annually take part in a Eucharistic procession followed by 40 hours in Eucharistic Adoration during “Borromeo Weekend” on or around Nov. 4, which is St. Charles Borromeo’s feast day.

This year, during the novena timeframe, the Church celebrates two extraordinary feast days: All Saints Day and All Souls Day, allowing novena participants to also lift up in prayer the souls of the faithful departed.
