Curious what it’s like to be a graduate student at the Saint Paul Seminary? We invite you to experience it firsthand on Tuesday, April 21 & Wednesday, April 22.
You’ll have the chance to sit in on real courses from our M.A. in Theology and M.A. in Pastoral Leadership programs, share dinner and conversation with current lay students, and get a feel for our vibrant academic community.

Tuesday, April 21: Fundamental Moral Theology & Catholic Social Teaching with Dr. Brandon Wanless
- This course introduces the fundamental principles of Catholic moral theology and Catholic social teaching. Special attention is given to the sources of morality, moral decision-making, the natural law tradition, and conscience formation.
Also on Tuesday, April 21: God & Revelation with Dr. Christian Washburn
- This course is a general introduction to the Christian theology of God. It examines the claims and limits of natural theology as a foundation for understanding God’s self-revelation in Sacred Scripture, as well as the dogmatic development of the latter which illumines the meaning of both.
Wednesday, April 22: Prophets with Dr. Paul Niskanen
- This course introduces students to the literary prophets and the role of prophetic traditions in Judeo-Christian thought. It surveys the Old Testament prophetic books in chronological order with emphasis on the prophetic vocation and canonical shaping of the prophetic corpus while using several interpretive methods.
