Installation as lector normally takes place during the configuration stage in a seminarian’s first year of theology. The ministry of lector is to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. Lectors may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.

Bishop Chad Zielinski of the Diocese of New Ulm will preside over this year’s lector installation Mass. A reception will be hosted in the atrium outside of the chapel.
