The St. Paul Seminary Press recently published “Augustine’s Confessions and Contemporary Concerns”, the seventh book of its collection. The book was the fruit of the Institute for Catholic Theological Formation‘s 2019 conference of the same name. Several Augustine scholars (John Martens, Fr. David Vincent Meconi, SJ, Jeffrey Lehman, Erika Kidd, and others) came together to reflect on different books of the Confessions and their relevancy to the modern age. Initiated by Saint Paul Seminary Academic Dean Christopher Thompson, and edited by Fr. David Meconi, SJ, this newest work contains essays from the scholars.
The Institute for Catholic Theological Formation sponsors publications by funding and operating Saint Paul Seminary Press (spspress.com). The press serves as a venue for the institute’s conference lectures to reach a global audience. These and other books published by Saint Paul Seminary Press engage and advance scholarly discussion on theological topics. The Saint Paul Seminary’s Assistant Professor of Sacred Scripture, Fr. Kevin Zilverberg, is the Institute’s Director.
