The man formerly known as Fr. John Opoku-Agyemang on Friday became the 38th Saint Paul Seminary alumnus to be ordained a Catholic bishop.

Opoku-Agyemang was installed as the second bishop of the Diocese of Konongo-Mampong in Ghana on Friday, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and World Day for Prayer for Sanctification of Priests. The 66-year-old prelate received his Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Theology from The Saint Paul Seminary in 2001.

Ordained in 1984,  Opoku-Agyemang previously served as rector and formator at St. Gregory the Great Provincial Major Seminary in Kumasi, Ghana; chaplain at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the same city; and as a parish priest at various locations throughout the country.
