Rome 2019 (SPS Theology IV)

Thank you to the Church, our Mother, who has gathered us up into Her arms and has loved us.

Sometimes life can feel like it has a moving target, but this week we have been reminded of the ultimate goal that doesn’t change.  Love.  The Lord.  Heaven with Him forever.

In a few short months we will all go home to serve in our respective dioceses, but right now we have the gift of being together in formation.  We learn a lot from our formation program, our classes, our pastoral assignments, but in a special way today I want to make note of the gift it is to learn from each other.

I don’t want to miss the beauty of the humanity on the street.  I want to honor the deepest desires of every person I encounter.  I desire to be poured out totally in love. 

The Church is home.  We each know the heaviness of sin, and the struggles we face today…and yet the Church is home.  It is a new year.  A year of hope.  A year of returning to the Heart. 

December 30th Father Scott Carl and the Deacon class begin our adventure in the Eternal City!
